The Covid-19 pandemic has left the world at a stand still. On top of the declaration of quarantining many have been left with trying to piece together themselves and copping with morbidity, morality and the limits of social interaction.
As a result, many are suffering from mental illness such as addiction, anxiety, depression and much more. Unfortunately, the effects of COVID has also has resulted in many taking their own lives. People as young as 13 years old have reported to be suffering from sort of mental illness due to the pandemic. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported that mental illness in Americans over the age of 18 has increase by over 40%.
Many are already losing their loved ones to a contagious disease. Why add to the death toll when resources are available for those struggling more than others during these hard times? Many struggle in silence and are more open to helping others then themselves but self care is the best care. Many of these mental health resources provide a safe space to report and voice feelings. In addition to this, anonymous options are available.
